To get ETH onto the Arbitrum blockchain for gas and/or other assets, one must bridge them over from some blockchain to Arbitrum. Currently, Transactions on Arbitrum are very cheap so a couple of USD worth of ETH should last you a while.

Below is a picture taken from Synapse protocol. Users can bridge assets from any of the available chains directly to Arbitrum, in the picture below the user is bridging from Ethereum. Users select the asset and amount they would like to bridge and press the “Bridge Token” button. The user’s wallet will ask for confirmation and after this is completed funds should arrive within as soon as a couple of seconds/minutes!
